The Black Arrow: A Tale Of Two Roses is a great adventure story by Robert Louis Stevenson, author of the famous Treasure Island. This is a 'Robin Hood' type of story which takes place during the reign of King Henry IV in England. Like Jim Hawkins of Treasure Island, the hero, Dick, it thrown in with devious villains. He must fight lies and betrayal as he works to save not only his own life, but also the life of a mysterious - and often uncooperative - damsel in distress.
The original story contained a lot of Old English terms to give the reader the flavour of the times. For the same of making it easier to read on this website, I have replace a lot of the Old English terms with equivalent modern terms. Below is the link to each chapter, making it easy to read your way through the book.
Note: If you are using a computer and want the definition of any word in this story [or the entire website] just double click on the word. It would open a page on The Free Dictionary with the definition.
